Our tips for getting the most out of Xerocon London 2018
By Admin

This month it’s London’s turn to host the world’s most beautiful and innovative accounting conference. If you’re a Xero user, or a cloud accounting enthusiast, then this is two days of knowledge, inspiration and networking that you won’t want to miss.

Because there’s so much on offer - from keynotes to exhibitors, break-out sessions to a big party - we’ve put together our top five pointers to help you get the most out of the event.

1. Have a plan

The agenda for the two-day event is packed, and it’s up online now. Take some time to check out the speakers, so you know where you need to be to catch the discussions that are most important to you. It also gives you a chance to lock in any networking opportunities, or arrange to visit exhibiting app partners if you’d like to line up more time for a discussion.

2. Get connected

If you’re not already, get social! Sharing content, insights and photos of the event through social media is a great way to connect with other attendees throughout the day, as well as build your profile in the industry. Use the #xerocon hashtag and tag in @xero. If you come by the Figured stand, we’d love to see your pics - use @figuredapp on Twitter to tag us in.

3. Get acquainted with the app ecosystem

While the keynotes are impressive and inspiring, there’s another great reason to get to Xerocon. It’s the chance to chat to a whole range of app ecosystem partners in one room. There are exhibitors who offer solutions for a range of industries, whose products could be ideal for your own clients. However there are also exhibitors who have tools to help you manage, market or streamline operations in your own practice.

4. Take the essentials

It’s a big couple of days, so comfort is paramount. Keep your hands free and take a comfortable bag with you to store all your essentials. Bring business cards - while you will be able to scan your pass to register your details with exhibitors, it’s likely that you’ll meet plenty of other contacts throughout the event. It can be helpful to also bring a reusable water bottle and coffee cup, and a notebook (or tablet if you prefer) to record all the inspiration and ideas you pick up.

5. Reach out to your Xero Account Manager

This event is a great opportunity to have some face-to-face time with your Xero Account Manager. If you have specific questions or challenges, they’ll be able to point you in the direction of an exhibiting app partner who could be the right fit for what you need, as well as accountants or bookkeepers who might have insights to share from their own journey with cloud accounting.

That’s one of the best things about Xerocon - a supportive crowd who puts community over competition, with a willingness to share and discuss ideas. We know that some of our existing partners will also be in attendance, so if you’d like to chat to anyone about their experience with Figured so far, we’d love to put you in touch.

The countdown is on, and we’re looking forward to seeing you there, 14-15 November, ExCel London.
