Getting the most out of Xerocon 2018

Xerocon can be a full on few days so it helps to have a plan, heres a few tips from an experienced Ecosystem partner

1. Plan ahead

The agenda for the two-day event is already online. Take some time to check it out so you can plan where you need to be, and who you want to see. As well as inspirational keynote speakers, there are also smaller breakout sessions so you can choose content that is most relevant or interesting to you.

2. Reach out

It’s also worth checking out the list of exhibitors so you can schedule in time to visit the Xero add-on partners who are also attending the event. Reach out beforehand and let them know that you’re keen to connect at the event, particularly if you have questions, would like to see a demo, or would like to chat to a specific account manager. The Figured team will be in the exhibitor hall, so stop by or let us know if you’d like to arrange a time to go through a product demo in more detail. It’s also worth lining up a time to chat to your Xero Account Manager. They can help point you in the direction of add-on partners to chat to if you’re looking for something specific.

3. Stay connected

Don’t forget to get social. It’s a great way to follow along with content that you may miss in other sessions, as well as to connect with other attendees throughout the day. You’ll find that others are sharing insights, announcements interesting finds. It will also encourage you to network and meet up with others in the industry in person at the event. Use the #xerocon hashtag and tag in @xero. If you come by the Figured stand, we’d love to see your pics - use @figuredapp on Twitter to tag us in.

4. Go prepared

Take our advice, and leave the heels at home! The exhibition hall is huge; you have a bit of ground to cover to get between conference halls and you’ll be on your feet for a fair bit of the day (take your pedometer, watch those steps clock up). It is a good idea to take a reusable water bottle to keep you hydrated, and your reusable coffee cup so you can keep caffeinated throughout the day - while helping to keep waste to a minimum. Exhibitors are encouraged to go paperless, but you may end up with a bit of swag that you want to take home, so a comfortable bag is a good option.

5. Take notes, share your knowledge and follow up

There is a lot to take in over the two days - conversations, presentations, products and people. We know it can be hard to find the time or space between keynotes to have an indepth look at the add-on products. Exhibitors will have a device so they can scan your details and send information straight to your inbox, so be sure to leave your details so you can follow up and share with your colleagues when you’re back in the office. If you’d like someone to take you through Figured in more detail, we’ll grab your details at the stand and can arrange a time with you to chat more in the coming weeks.

Figured is a silver exhibitor this year with a stand in the exhibitor hall and a breakout session during the event. With increased scrutiny from banks around lending, it’s a good opportunity to talk to us about how Figured’s budgeting and forecasting capabilities can help you provide your farming clients - and their banks - with a clearer picture of farm performance.

We look forward to seeing you there!
