We are excited to share that Figured is a finalist in the New Zealand Hi Tech Awards in two categories - Coretex Hi-Tech Emerging Company of the Year and NZTE Innovative Agritech Product.
The NZ Hi Tech Awards celebrate the country’s most successful high-tech companies and highest achieving individuals, and it’s an honour to once again be nominated as part of this year’s event.
Figured were last year named as the NZ Hi Tech Start up of the Year 2016, so we are proud to have our continued success recognised in the Emerging Company category for 2017. In the year since we won the Start Up of the Year award, we have accelerated growth through key partnerships, in particular with Farm Credit Services America (read more about this announcement here). This partnership not only serves to establish Figured’s presence in the US market, but the investment from this partnership provides additional resource for further developing and supporting the New Zealand and Australian markets.
In line with this, we have also been named as a finalist for Innovative Agritech Product. It’s a category that recognises technology that has provided an innovative solution for the primary sector. As a company that is passionate about improving the profitability of agriculture in New Zealand and beyond, we’re particularly proud to have our software recognised here.
We know that around just 20% of farmers currently actively manage their farm against a financial plan. However, with all farming sectors having faced volatile returns with fluctuating commodity prices, it is crucial for the industry to better understand cashflow and profit in real time so they can make informed decisions quickly and adapt to the environment. We realised that just creating an accounting tool for farmers wouldn’t help, but creating a tool that connects them to the advisers who can, would. Where other ag tech solutions focus on production, precision agriculture and improving yield, they do not link through to actual business profitability. Figured is the missing link in an ecosystem of data software providers that bring the farming team together.
