Leading Partnerships: Gary Brockway, Baldwins
By Admin

Gary Brockway is a partner based in the Derby office of UK accounting practice, Baldwins. It’s clear he’s a man who has a passion for farming and agricultural businesses - as well as being a key member of the Baldwins Rural team, he is a sitting member of the ICAEW Farming and Rural business community committee.

With over 30 years of varied experience in practice, Gary joined Baldwins in March 2018, after 12 years as a Director of an East Midlands-based practice. As part of Baldwins’ Rural Business team, Gary works closely with a range of agricultural and rural clients, assisting them in identifying, planning and achieving their strategic goals.

“Our local offering, backed up with national experience and skill sets, provide support and consultative advice to solve a variety of solutions that are as varied and unique as our rural clients.

“In addition to core accounting specifically for the rural and agricultural sector, we can also offer specialist advice in obtaining finance, inheritance tax planning, agricultural property relief, maximising tax reliefs, software provision and reviewing business structures.”

A part of the community

At the heart of Baldwins’ approach to working with clients is community. Many of the team originate from rural communities themselves, meaning they understand the unique nature of rural business and the concerns or challenges that their clients face.

“We understand local issues, because they affect us too, so we work closely with our clients to understand how these issues are affecting them on a day-to day-basis.”

Their local offering, backed up with national experience and skill sets, provide support and consultative advice to solve a variety of solutions that are as varied and unique as their rural clients.

Working with you to grow your business

Which is also why they’ve decided to partner with Figured. Putting the client first, to establish a team approach to projects and strategy, is what Figured does best, and it’s a value that Baldwins recognise within their own business.

“We are always looking at ways in which we can benefit our clients and offer services that you wouldn’t normally expect to receive from a firm of accountants. This involves a lot more than doing just the mainstream audit, accounts and tax compliance. It’s about listening and it’s about being there when you need us.

“The strategic partnership, which the Baldwins Rural team have established with Figured, plays a key part in the offering that we can package for our clients. Being involved in the ongoing development of the software, allows us to ensure it best fits our clients needs”, says Gary.
