Key insights from the Tasmanian Farmers & Graziers Conference 2016
I’ve always enjoyed visiting Tasmania – especially Launceston – and recently, I travelled there for theTasmanian Farmers and Graziers Association(TFGA) conference held on the 7th and 8th of July.
Here are a few takeaways from my first TFGA Conference:

Fieldays 2016 - a focus on moving forward
Mystery Creek Fieldays 2016 was, as expected, a huge event. Over 130,000 visitors came through the gates over the four days, meaning this year’s event was one of the biggest on record.
For Figured, our third year of Fieldays was an incredible opportunity to connect with new and existing users, to demonstrate recent product innovations, and to reinforce our position as a leading-edge agri financial management tool through our strong on-site presence.

That’s the definition of collaboration and there’s no place it could be more beneficial right now than within farming businesses.

Figured are proud to be sponsoring a great initiative to send 100 drought-affected Canterbury sheep and beef farmers to Mystery Creek Fieldays 2016.
Nick Hamilton is the North Canterbury farmer leading the cause - and it’s one that’s all too close to his heart.

No matter how much we invest in technology, if it doesn't rain the farmer is in a world of pain, which I think is a concept that is being forgotten as we continue to invest in technology and chase yield.
