At Figured, we are a pure play in the cloud software vendor; we love it and we are excited by what it offers us as a company.

We hear a lot about software companies (both in agri and other areas) who are planning on moving their desktop software into the cloud, on the promise that this will launch them into the new world and renew the life of their product.

We’re excited to announce that Figured has entered into a strategic partnership that sees BNZ (a subsidiary of NAB Australia) acquire a cornerstone 17% shareholding.

The industry itself acknowledges that change is coming - CAANZ own report on the risks and opportunities that disruptive technologies present identified that over 17,000 accountants are at high risk of displacement through automation. Like most changes in the 21st Century, technology is the predominant driver of this change. The internet, along with cloud technology, is allowing customers to connect with accountants in new ways, and automation is driving the cost out of repeatable processes and compliance requirements. Whilst I can see some accountants preparing for change, I am less convinced that many are preparing for disruption.

While our number of partners across Australia is quickly on the rise, we wanted to acknowledge Lynette for leading the charge in bringing Figured to Aussie farmers, and recognise her eagerness to embrace innovative rural accounting tools in her practice.
