For Ag Accountants
The world's largest farm financial management platform
There's a reason accounting firms across the US, Australia, New Zealand, and the UK run their farming clients through Figured. More than 35,000 farms trust the platform β and the advisors who use it every day know exactly why.
The problem with traditional farm budgets is that as soon as something changes, they stop being accurate. And in farming, something always changes.
If you were to rebuild the numbers every time, for every client, it's time you could never get back in billable hours. So farmers do what they can without a plan, and when a key decision comes up mid-season, the numbers are out of date.
But the problem is solvable, and a growing number of US practices have figured it out. They're working from a platform that maintains a live picture all year, with a budget that updates itself, that has flexible planning and reporting built in. When something changes, the plan changes with it, so their advisory conversations keep up.
Farm Budgeting
Figured's budgeting and planning tool is the Planning Grid, which connects livestock movements, production data, and seasonal income directly to cashflow. As each client updates their trackers throughout the year, everything flows straight into the budget.
Making life even easier, Figured connects directly to Xero and QuickBooks Online. Forget the spreadsheet reconciliation β when someone changes a number in your client's accounting file, Figured updates automatically.

Reforecasting
Farming is volatile, so you're going to need to reforecast more than once per season. That's why Figured supports unlimited reforecasts, allowing you to update income or expense assumptions, adjust production volumes, or account for new cost pressures without rebuilding each time.
To keep a record of how the plan has changed throughout a season, save snapshots at the click of a button. When a client asks "how does this compare to what we planned?" you have the answers, not the workload.

Scenario Planning
Figured's Scenario Planner lets you run alternative financial views without touching the primary budget. See how different price assumptions or debt restructuring scenarios could play out, covering everything from farm expansion scenarios to succession plans and near-term capital calls.
This is how you extend advisory conversations beyond the annual budgeting line, working with farmers and their families to set up not only the season, but the future too.

Custom Reporting
Figured's powerful custom report builder, Reporting Studio, gives you full control over how farm performance is measured and presented.
Build your best layouts once at the organization level, then open each report at the farm level and watch as the data populates itself. Add whatever KPIs, charts, and tables you need via a simple drag-and-drop editor, and Auto Analyst writes the commentary for you.
With Reporting Studio, reporting work that used to take hours can be produced in minutes, consistently, scalable across your entire client portfolio.

Collaboration
Figured connects the whole farming team to a shared, live picture. Farmers, accountants, advisors, and even lenders all get their own view, with access that reflects their role.
Show your clients their financial position at any time; include family members, trustees, or the bank in more conversations throughout the year; and give advisors access to the farm's most recent picture. Nobody has to chase data or manage version control, and there's no risk that anyone gets stuck working from the wrong information.

We're all spending money to try to make money, and that is definitely where Xero and Figured come in as a very integral tool for our business β so that we are constantly looking forward, not backwards.
Figured is an online cloud tool that enables clients to plan their cashflow scenario planning for one to five years into the future. Its ability to look at profitability on the farm and not just focus on cash gives a great understanding about how the business is performing.
The beauty of Figured is that it helps you look forward. It gives you a picture, and it might be six to 12 months down the road of where you're going. If you don't like that picture, you've got that time to change. It's just better than looking back at last year's numbers when it's a bit late to make a change.

Build budgets that follow how a cropping season pays. Inputs and contracting land months before the grain sells, so Figured connects planting programs, costs, and expected harvest income to the farm's cash position, showing where the gaps fall before a client has to fund them.
Model gross margin by crop season before your client commits to next year's rotation, on a per-acre basis that holds up across farms of different sizes. When prices move, reforecast in the same plan, and roll next season's budget over from this season's actuals.

Build financial plans that connect stock movements, trading decisions, and seasonal income to the farm's actual cash position, using a planning interface built for how livestock operations move.
Reforecast the moment prices shift, and use scenario modeling to test a herd-size decision or a season change before committing to it β so the numbers stay current while you focus on the forward-looking advisory work.

For accountants serving not only farming operations, but non-farm commercial entities too, Figured's Commercial Manager extends the same planning, forecasting, and reporting workflow to the rest of your portfolio.

Earn recognition for the advisory work you're already doing β and get found by the farming clients looking for an advisor who knows Figured.

Questions
For a client already on Xero or QuickBooks Online, connecting Figured and building an opening financial plan typically takes just a few hours. We'll help you through all the onboarding steps to make sure you've got what you need, and if you have any questions as you use the platform, our support team is available to all Figured users.
Once your client is in Figured and they're running the season, setting up a new budget each year is significantly quicker than the first time. That's because you can easily rollover last year's actuals into the new budget, giving you a solid base to tailor to the new year's expectations.
Both work. Figured's user roles let you control exactly what access each person has on a farm file, from read-only visibility for the farmer through to full edit access for senior partners.
Most practices give their farming clients a real-time view of their own financial position while keeping planning and reporting work in the accountant's hands. Some firms run joint budget reviews directly in the platform with clients.
Yes, you can copy from a previous season. When setting up a new financial plan, Figured lets you bring forward income and expense structures, production volumes, and assumptions from the prior year's actuals or budget as a starting point.
For advisors managing a portfolio of farming clients, the time that used to be spent building spreadsheet budgets from scratch is instead spent refining the numbers and delivering great advice.
Yes, we've worked hard to ensure that Auto Analyst, Reporting Studio's AI commentary feature, is completely accurate to your farm numbers, and is safe to use.
Within Reporting Studio, Figured calculates every figure, variance, and ratio before Auto Analyst sees anything. The AI's job is to describe those numbers in writing. A separate checking layer then reads the write-up back against the underlying data and corrects anything that doesn't reconcile, which minimizes the risk of an inaccurate statement reaching the page.
On the data security side, Figured AI works only with what's in your Figured account. It doesn't browse the web or pull in outside sources. When Auto Analyst writes commentary for you, Figured sends the relevant data to a model provider for processing, and doesn't retain the request or the response afterwards.
