When You Need Your Numbers, Figured is There

Budgets That Reflect Every Side of the Operation

Livestock movements, cropping cycles, and seasonal income all connect to one live cash position. A change on one side of the farm doesn't leave the rest of your plan out of date.

See What Each Enterprise Is Actually Contributing

Always know the numbers behind your biggest calls. Figured splits income, costs, and inventory by enterprise, so you can see which side of the operation is carrying the year before you decide what to do next season.

Know What Your Farm Is Worth in Real Time

Keep your stock on hand plus harvested crops and inputs in a single current view, valued at cost, all season long. When you need your numbers for the season’s big decisions, your records are already up to date.

Intelligent Tools Built Natively Into the Platform

Intelligent, AI-powered systems are woven naturally into Figured, like report commentary that writes itself. We're making the platform better and faster, with more in development.

Heard This Before?
"We just run it as one operation. Splitting cattle and cropping apart isn't worth the hassle."

Every year there are big calls to make: more land into crop, more stock through winter, or any number of other serious financial decisions. But it's a pain to split accounts between enterprises, so the only number farmers have to make them with is the blended bottom line for the whole farm.

That pain is why a growing number of US mixed enterprise farmers are doing things differently.

They're working on a platform that splits income, costs, and inventory by enterprise automatically, so they know which sides of the operation are carrying the year before they make the big calls. Plus, budgeting, planning, scenario modeling, and reporting are all in the same place, saving them hours in the office each week.

That platform is Figured.

What You Get

How Figured Works for US Mixed Enterprise Farmers

Figured is built to give mixed enterprise farmers access to everything they need in one place, with tools to plan, model, report, and make the season's big decisions.

Budgets Built Around How Your Whole Operation Works

Build financial plans that connect livestock movements and cropping cycles to your actual cash position, using a grid-style interface built for the way mixed enterprises actually run β€” no fixed financial year, and no season overflows.

Reforecast either enterprise on its own when conditions change on just one side of the farm, and rollover last year's numbers when it's time to build the next budget, so you're not starting from scratch.

Generate Instant Reports With Commentary That Writes Itself

When it's time to refinance, report to the trust or governance board, or fetch this year's results for a planning conversation, Figured gives you and your accountant fast, custom reports drawn from live farm data, including a gross margin view broken down by enterprise.

Create bank packs instantly straight from your trackers, or customize a highly visual template and reproduce it as many times as you like, with the data updating itself. Then, Auto Analyst adds the commentary for you, saving you time writing it all up yourself.

Connect What Happens On the Farm to Your Financial Picture

Your Livestock and Crop Trackers connect stock reconciliation, harvest records, and financial planning together. The Inventory Tracker keeps harvested crops and purchased inputs in a single connected view, valued at cost.

Then, the Allocator assigns income, costs, and inventory to the right enterprise, including shared costs split across both, so you always know which side of the operation is contributing what.

Plan What Comes Next With Numbers to Back It Up

The decisions that shape your family's future deserve more than a conversation once or twice a year.

Scenario modeling in Figured lets you map different pathways in financial terms before you commit, so your family can see what the operation could look like under different ownership structures or enterprise mixes β€” including which enterprise each incoming generation actually wants to run.

The beauty of Figured is that it helps you look forward. It gives you a picture, and it might be six to 12 months down the road of where you're going. If you don't like that picture, you've got that time to change. It's just better than looking back at last year's numbers when it's a bit late to make a change.

Questions

Figured for Mixed Enterprise Farmers β€” FAQ

While you can absolutely use Figured by yourself as a farmer, we do recommend checking to see if your accountant or advisor is already using it.

Getting your Livestock and Crop Trackers configured correctly, connecting to your accounting software, and making sure the opening position is right all benefit from someone who knows the platform well. Trying to do it without an advisor tends to mean a slower start and more things to unpick later.

Once you're set up, though, you have your own access to the platform and can see your financial and stock data at any time β€” not just when your accountant runs a report. The goal is for both you and your accountant to have access to the same live data, which you can view at the same time.

Figured connects to QBO and Xero. If your farm accounting runs through either of those, you can use Figured on top of it.

If you're on an alternative accounting system, or using spreadsheets or paper-based records, you'd need to migrate to one of the supported systems first. While migrating to a modern platform can seem daunting, most farms never go back β€” there's a reason they're so popular.

It may help to talk to a Figured-enabled accountant about what you need to do next to upgrade your accounting system, then get onto Figured.

Yes. Banks want more than year-end accounts, they want forward cashflows, a current debt position, and a financial picture that's been kept up to date throughout the season. Figured produces all of that from your live data.

When a lending conversation comes up, you and your accountant can update assumptions, run a scenario at a different stock price or yield assumption, and have something credible ready in hours, if not minutes. Some US banks are already looking more favorably at farming clients who can bring this kind of visibility to a review.

Figured can help you build your relationship with the bank, too. The farmers who get the most from their lender give them visibility throughout the year, and often include them in regular farm meetings. With the bank on your farm team throughout the year, they don't need to be caught up every time you bring them into the conversations β€” making it easier to have the big conversations, and get the outcomes you need.

Your job is keeping the underlying data current β€” reconciling bank transactions in Xero and recording stock movements and crop records as they happen. The more current that is, the more useful Figured is for both of you.

Your accountant's job is to work with that data inside Figured. They configure your Livestock and Crop Trackers, manage the planning and reporting, and handle the year-end financial work: stock and inventory valuations, accruals, and the reports that go to the IRS and the bank.

When both sides have done their part, the conversation between you shifts from what happened last year, to what's going on right now and, more importantly, what might happen next.

Figured is a monthly subscription, and the cost depends on which product tier your accountant sets you up on β€” Farm Reporter for reporting, or Farm Manager if you want planning and forecasting on top of that.

Most farmers don't manage the subscription directly. Your accountant or advisor handles the setup, and depending on how they work, they'll either pass the cost on to you separately or fold it into your advisory fees. The best person to ask is your accountant β€” they can tell you exactly what applies to your farm before you commit to anything.
