  • Compliance made easy with less double handling and errors.
  • Planning, forecasting, and scenario modelling in one place.
  • Dairy benchmarking across 2,000+ verified NZ farms.

The World’s Largest Farm Financial Management Platform

There’s a reason thousands of agri-accounting firms across New Zealand, Australia, the UK, and the USA run their dairy clients through Figured. More than 35,000 farms trust the platform — and the advisers who use it every day know exactly why.

When Your Dairy Clients Need You, Figured Is There

A Live Picture for Every Dairy Client

Milk price shifts, kgMS production, and bank feeds connect to the budget automatically. You, your client, and the bank all read the same numbers, so when conditions change mid-season nobody is working from a picture that’s months old.

Dairy Benchmarking Across 2,000+ NZ Farms

Compare your clients against verified benchmarks across thousands of active NZ dairy farms, filtered by region, supplier, and ownership type — arriving months ahead of any other local benchmarking source.

Purpose-Built for the Complexity of NZ Dairy

Sharemilker and contract milker arrangements, complex entity structures, and DairyNZ levy calculations are all handled natively, built around how NZ dairy operations actually work.

Risk Management Tools that Go Beyond the Budget

Model future milk price scenarios directly in Figured, then connect clients to Milk Price Protection — a put option that secures a minimum kgMS price while preserving the upside.

Heard This Before?

“We do good compliance work, but we’re not part of the conversation when the big decisions get made.”

Dairy decisions don’t arrive at year end. Breeding choices, capital calls, debt decisions, and Fonterra payout revisions arrive mid-season, over the phone, sometimes with hours to act. In a compliance-only relationship, by the time the financial picture is ready, the moment may have passed.

That gap — between when a decision needs to be made and when the right information becomes available — is structural. Most farm teams were never designed to close it.

Except, a growing number of NZ dairy accountants are working differently. They’re building relationships where the data is current year-round, and conversations happen throughout the season. When a decision lands, they’re already in the room.

That platform is Figured.

How Figured Works for NZ Dairy Accountants

Figured is built to help dairy accountants move from compliance-first to insight-first — with the tools to make real-time advisory a normal, scalable part of how you work with clients.

Budgets that Move with the Season

Build financial plans that connect monthly kgMS targets, milk income, feed costs, and capital commitments to the farm’s actual cashflow position. When the Fonterra payout shifts or a cost pressure emerges mid-season, reforecast before the phone call ends.

Then, scenario modelling lets you quickly map what different milk price or stocking rate assumptions mean for the farm’s year-end position — before your client commits to anything.

Custom Visual Reports Done in Minutes

Figured reimagines reporting for NZ dairy accountants.

Build highly visual report templates at the organisation level and watch as the KPIs, charts, and tables populate automatically at the farm level. With Auto Analyst, AI even writes the commentary for you — so bank packs, management summaries, governance reports, and all the other reports you need each year can be produced in minutes, consistently, across your entire dairy portfolio.

Connecting Production and Financial Data Together

Figured connects the production data that defines dairy financials. Monthly kgMS production syncs automatically from Fonterra, Open Country, Synlait and other NZ processors, flowing directly into each client’s budget. Sharemilker and contract milker arrangements are handled natively, with income splits, levy calculations, and production reconciliation all in one place.

For accountants managing a mix of ownership types across their dairy client base, Figured gives you a consistent view regardless of how each farm is structured.

See How Your Dairy Clients Stack Up — Backed by Verified Data

Figured Insights customers have access to New Zealand’s most complete dairy industry data — built on verified, quality-checked data from more than 2,000+ verified dairy farms.

Filter by region, supplier, or ownership type to get benchmarks that are genuinely relevant to each client’s operation. Compare farms within your portfolio, or measure against the industry as a whole. Smart AI helps you categorise disparate farm data, making it even easier to compare like with like across a full data set.

Planning Tools for the Risk Your Dairy Clients Can't Avoid

Milk price volatility is the single biggest financial risk for most NZ dairy operations, and farmers have generally absorbed it as a given. Milk Price Protection changes that.

Offered through Figured in partnership with StoneX, Milk Price Protection secures a minimum price per kgMS while preserving the upside if the market rises. Model the cashflow and breakeven impact of different price scenarios directly in Figured before your client commits, adding enhanced value to your advisory offering and keeping more agri services inside the relationship.

Available to both farm owners and, for the first time in New Zealand, sharemilkers too.

Compliance that Keeps Up with the Season

Figured handles the compliance complexity that makes NZ dairy accounting demanding at scale.

Livestock valuations, stock reconciliations, and milk income reconciliations are built into the platform workflow, with production data connected to the financials from the start of the season. DairyNZ levies calculate automatically from planned production volumes.

In Figured, year-end isn’t a scramble of spreadsheets and chasing data because the picture has been building all season.

Rather than going back and forth and back and forth and it taking a week to get a final forecast that we can then take to the bank, [on Figured] we can do it all within an hour and have the result then and there.

Integrations

Connected to the Tools Your Dairy Clients Already Use

Figured doesn't replace your existing software — it plugs in on top, pulling live data from Xero, QuickBooks Online, or MYOB, and integrates with the apps you already use to manage the farm.

Lending Solutions Built Around How Dairy Farms Work

New Zealand is in the middle of a major farm ownership transition, and the farmers best placed to step up are often the ones held back by how traditional lending is structured.

That’s where the Farm Progression Loan comes in for qualifying NZ farmers.

With lending decisions informed by real farm data within Figured, this product is designed for farmers who can demonstrate more than just a strong asset position, but great financial performance. For accountants, it also creates an opportunity to play a more active role in helping clients prepare for succession, expansion, or ownership transition.

Figured for Dairy — FAQ

Yes, Figured is built specifically around how dairy farming is actually structured in New Zealand.

When you set up a milk tracker, you select the operation type, whether that’s owner-operator, farm owner with sharemilker, farm owner with contract milker, or sharemilker/contract milker operating independently. The tracker then calculates income splits, levy allocations, and forecasting appropriately for that structure.

Figured handles changes to sharemilking arrangements within a single tracker, on a season-by-season basis. If a sharemilker’s percentage changes — say, from 50% to 80% — you update it for the new season rather than creating an entirely new tracker with fresh account mapping and integration setup. The existing tracker carries forward, and the new split applies from the season you specify.

Most likely, but it depends on the state of the file.

Figured pulls milk income and farm transactions from Xero, QuickBooks Online, or MYOB, so the platform works best when milk income is coded to dedicated accounts and the chart of accounts has some structure to it.

This is exactly where our support team can help. We’ll walk you through onboarding onto Figured, setting up your first farm files, and creating a rollout plan that works for your business. With ongoing support available to all users regardless of Figured plan, plus a Help Centre packed full of useful articles on integrations, setup, and product info, we’re always here to answer your questions.

The short version: Farm Reporter is for actuals. Farm Manager is for planning.

Farm Reporter gives your clients access to real-time financial reporting drawn from their accounting software. It’s well-suited to clients where your main goal is accurate, up-to-date compliance reporting and you want to move that work off spreadsheets.

Farm Manager includes everything in Farm Reporter, plus budgeting, cashflow forecasting, scenario planning, and variance reporting. It’s the right choice when you want to move the relationship beyond compliance and into the higher-value work that’s more resilient to changing market trends. Farm Manager makes it possible to build forecasts, model pricing scenarios, and hold more frequent conversations with clients about the future of their business — plus the compliance side and added financial services — all in one place.

For most New Zealand dairy accountants building an advisory practice, Farm Manager is where that growth happens. Farm Reporter is a solid starting point for clients who aren’t ready to engage at that level yet.

This is one of the areas where Figured seriously changes what an advisory conversation looks like for a dairy client.

Breakeven milk price is built into Figured’s benchmarking and reporting framework, calculated automatically from a client’s actual cost structure. That means when a client asks “what milk price do we need to cover our costs this season?”, the answer comes from their own numbers — you don’t need to estimate.

On top of that, Scenario Planner lets you model what different payout scenarios look like for a specific farm against that client’s cost base and debt position.

And, for clients who’ve always accepted the milk price as a given, Milk Price Protection gives them a tool to take price risk into their own hands. Offered through Figured in partnership with StoneX, it secures a minimum price per kgMS while leaving the upside open if the market rises.

For most organisations, getting started is relatively quick. Connecting your accounting software and creating the farm in Figured takes minutes, and our NZ-based onboarding and Customer Success team can help you get your trackers configured correctly from there.

A clean, well-organised file can be producing useful reports the same day. If your file needs a bit of tidying up first, our team will help you get there.

Yes. These days, banks are asking for more than the year-end financials. They want to see forward-looking cashflows, current debt position, and evidence that the farming business has a team behind it that’s tracking the numbers in real time. Figured produces exactly that, with reports drawn from live accounting data.

When a client comes to you before a bank review or a refinancing conversation and their Figured file is current, you can update assumptions, run a scenario at a lower milk price, and get something meaningful to the bank far more quickly than spending days rebuilding the numbers in Excel.

Some NZ banks are beginning to actively favour dairy clients who can provide this kind of forward-looking reporting. Getting ahead of that shift now is one of the stronger arguments for building your advisory practice on Figured.
